Bow Cecil

The M/T Bow Cecil (IMO 9143219) is owned by Nduna Maritime, marking a landmark

shift towards South African ownership in chemical tanker operations. The vessel not

only aligns with international safety and environmental standards but also represents

a strategic maritime asset that strengthens local value-chain participation, skill

development and export logistics for South African chemical products.

With our historic ownership, strong industry partnerships, and commitment to skills

development, Bow Cecil through Nduna Maritime is redefining the South African

maritime landscape, fostering economic growth, and contributing to the

expansion of South Africa’s global shipping footprint.

Our commitment to developing South Africa’s maritime sector has lead us to creating

a platform for South African cadets to receive training and employment opportunities

on-board Bow Cecil. Since 2019, ten cadets have been trained.

Bow Cecil combines durable construction with advanced safety and environmental systems

and cargo-handling systems in full compliance with International Maritime Organization (IMO)

regulations. Designed to meet stringent standards for chemical and oil product transport, the

vessel incorporates corrosion-resistant cargo tanks, efficient ballast-water management systems,

and double-hull construction to ensure operational safety, pollution prevention, and long-term

reliability in global service.

The vessel is a chemical and oil products tanker built in Norway.

With a deadweight of approximately 37,369 tons and 47 stainless-steel cargo tanks,

Bow Cecil is designed for flexible, safe, and segregated transport of multiple chemical

products simultaneously. The ship measures about 183 m in length and 32 m in

beam, with a draft of 10.7 m and a gross tonnage of roughly 23,200 GT.

Bow Cecil remains actively trading worldwide, frequently calling ports in Asia, Africa,

North America, South America, and Europe for loading and discharging of chemicals

and oil products. Bow Cecil handles approximately 200,000 MT of bulk liquid cargo

annually. Since its acquisition in 2019, Bow Cecil has successfully handled

over 1,5 million MT of liquid cargo for our diverse client base.
